FAQs
How do I enroll in Klips 2.0 and activate my student account?
To become a student at the University of Cologne, you must first register as an applicant in KLIPS 2.0 and create an applicant account.
You can find the online application portal KLIPS 2.0 here: https://klips2.uni-koeln.de/co/webnav.ini
Please switch to English language and follow the link »register for a new applicant account« . Please fill in your »personal data«. After you have filled in your personal data, you will receive an email with
your log-in information. Please log into KLIPS 2.0 with your login details.
With the confirmation of your application you should have received detailed information on how to apply in Klips 2.0. Please follow all the necessary steps listed in the informative sheet.
After having completed your online application, you are able to see an overview of your application. Please check your data and send it afterwards. You do not have to print or upload anything.
You will receive a PIN number by email, which you please use - together with your matriculation number - in order to activate your student account in KLIPS 2.0.
After the activation of your Klips account, you will not need to use Klips anymore.
How do I register for courses on Klips 2.0?
You don't. After you are listed as an enrolled student in Klips 2.0 we will register you for your course. You are not supposed to register for courses yourself.
How do I access my Webmail and Ilias account?
Once you have successfully activated your Klips 2.0 account you can access both your Webmail and your Ilias account with the same username and password that is used for Klips 2.0. Please note that it can take up to 24 hours after your Klips registration for these platforms to get activated. Make sure to check your Webmail regularly or forward them to your personal e-mail as many teachers only communicate via this platform.
Why can I not see my course on Ilias?
Even if you have successfully logged into Ilias often your course does not show. This can be due to various reasons. Some teachers choose not to use Ilias as a platform. They will exclusively send you the information you need via Webmail. Sometimes the course will not be activated until the first session and therefore cannot be seen until then, so please be patient.
If you have not received any information or links for your course up until after the first session, please contact us.
Can I use the online resources of the UoC's library?
When and how will I receive my certificate?
Once the professors forwarded your grade to us we will issue your transcript and certificate and sent it to you via email. It might take some time until we receive your grade, so please be patient.
