Dr. Georg Verweyen

Georg Verweyen studied literature, linguistics, philosophy and cultural anthropology at the universities of Bonn, Paris IV and Bochum. He holds a doctorandus degree from the University of Utrecht and a master's degree and doctorate in German Literature from the Ruhr University in Bochum. He has extensive experience abroad, having taught at universities in Kenya and Thailand for more than ten years. From 2015 to 2021, Georg Verweyen represented the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as Director of the Bangkok Office. Since 2021, he has been working for the International Affairs Division of the University of Cologne, coordinating the Ghana-NRW University Alliance and LEAD!, the Leadership for Africa Scholarship Programme.

Georg is coordinating the programme and moderating most sessions throughout the semster. You'll find him wherever he's needed - introducing the Principal Investigators or just re-arranging the tables.
