The India offices of University of Cologne and Max-Planck-Gesellschaft will be organizing a workshop on the topic “Plant-environment interactions and their ecological and agricultural consequences” from December 19th to 22nd, 2024 in Pune, in collaboration with IISER Pune and University of Pune, and supported by the German Centre for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New Delhi.
This workshop will mainly focus on recent advances in understanding plants’ responses in their biotic (insect herbivores, pathogens, nematodes, etc.) and abiotic (temperature, radiation, soil quality, etc.) environment interactions.
A key highlight of the workshop will be the participation of Prof. Jonathan Gershenzon, Director of the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology and Dr Balakumaran Chandrasekar, an alumnus from the Cluster of Excellence on Plant Sciences (CEPLAS), University of Cologne, the only Cluster of Excellence on Plant Sciences in Germany.
