LEAD! regularly brings together African students who are funded under the Leadership for Africa programme. On the one hand, LEAD! teaches the basics of good governance and civil society, while also imparting professional skills.

During the LEAD! Summer School 2022, participants visited the German Academic Exchange Service and the UN Campus in Bonn, among other places. Together, the students discussed their respective plans for a time after graduation. The UN debates went down particularly well with the participants. In this context, questions of fair water distribution were discussed as well as the overdue reform of the UN Security Council.

The online programme of the current winter semester focuses on professional soft skills. The LEAD! programme for the first cohort concludes in January with a final weekend in Cologne.
