Nassim W. Balestrini: Climate Change Theatre: Reflections on Aesthetics and Activism

Nassim W. Balestrini is Full Professor of American Studies and Intermediality at the University of Graz, Austria, where she also heads the Centre for Intermediality Studies in Graz (CIMIG). Before 2014, she taught at the universities of Mainz, Paderborn, and Regensburg and at the University of California, Davis. Within the fields of US-American and Canadian literature and of intermediality and adaptation, she is particularly interested in life writing across media, hip hop, so-called ethnic literatures, and the history of theater and poetry. Since the mid-2010s, climate change theater has played a major role in her research and teaching.

irk W. Junker: Cassandra’s Error: Thirty Years in the Rhetoric of Climate Science

Prof. Dr. Kirk W. Junker is Professor of Law, Director of the Environmental Law Center, and Board Chair of the International Master of Environmental Sciences Programme at the University of Cologne.  He was formerly a Lecturer in Science Communication at the Open University, UK, Queen’s University Belfast, and Dublin City University.  He is a co-founder of the European Network of Science Communication Teachers (ENSCOT) and the European Network of Science Communication Researchers (ENSCORE).  He edited Science and the Public, co-edited Communicating Science: Professional Contexts and has contributed to the Routledge Handbook on Applied Climate Ethics.  He was previously a trial lawyer with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources.
