In late January Bill Boothby published his new book about AI, Warfare and the Law. One of the purposes of the text is to identify what autonomous weapons and AI that supports human decision-making in warfare must reliably do if it is to be legally acceptable. A second purpose is to work out who can be held legally responsible if things go wrong. He will explain some of the issues he grappled with when writing the book and will probably pose as many questions as he answers.

As a continuation of the “Frankfurt Talks on Information Law” and the “Karlsruhe Dialogue on Information Law”, the “Cologne Talks on Information Law” are aimed at academics, business and practitioners.
They offer a forum for the exchange of views on current problems as well as fundamental issues from all areas of public information law.
Special areas such as data protection law, consumer information law, telecommunications law or media law are therefore dealt with. In addition, the talks also provide a forum for legal theory topics such as the legal structure of the information system, rationality issues or decision-making behavior. The event is intra- and interdisciplinary, so that the Frankfurt Talks on Information Law offer lawyers from all disciplines, but also representatives of related sciences, an opportunity for open, intensive and interdisciplinary discourse.

In Fortführung der "Frankfurter Gespräche zum Informationsrecht" sowie des "Karlsruher Dialogs zum Informationsrecht" richten sich die "Kölner Gespräche zum Informationsrecht" an Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und Praxis.
Sie bieten ein Forum sowohl für den Austausch über aktuelle Problemstellungen als auch für Grundsatzfragen aus allen Bereichen des Öffentlichen Informationsrechts.
Behandelt werden daher Spezialgebiete wie Datenschutzrecht, Verbraucherinformationsrecht, Telekommunikationsrecht oder Medienrecht. Darüber hinaus bieten die Gespräche auch ein Forum für rechtstheoretische Themen wie die rechtliche Gestaltung der Informationsordnung, Rationalitätsfragen oder Entscheidungsverhalten. Die Veranstaltung ist intra- und interdisziplinär ausgerichtet, so dass die Frankfurter Gespräche zum Informationsrecht Juristen aller Fachbereiche, aber auch Vertretern benachbarter Wissenschaften eine Gelegenheit zum offenen, intensiven und fächerübergreifenden Diskurs bietet.
