Julián Rafael Dib is a biochemist with a PhD in biological sciences. After completing his PhD, Prof. Dib was awarded a Humboldt Research Fellowship to work at the University of Münster, Germany. He is currently an Associate Professor at the National University of Tucumán and a researcher at PROIMI-CONICET, Argentina. His research interests are related to the biology of linear plasmids and biological control in fruits. He is a consultant to companies involved in fruit post-harvest technologies. He has received numerous international awards and fellowships, including from the Fulbright Commission, DAAD, ERASMUS and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. He has been a visiting professor at the Technical University of Munich, Germany; Universidad de la República, Uruguay; Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia; and University of Innsbruck, Austria. He is an academic expert for the ProGRANT programme of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the United Nations University Biotechnology Programme for Latin America and the Caribbean.
