Welcome at the University of Cologne Department German as a Foreign Language! 

The Department German as a Foreign Language offers general language, preparatory and specific language courses for international students and scholars. In addition, we conduct the German Language Examination for University Admission (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang, DSH) and are a licensed test centre for the examination of telc C1 Hochschule and TestDaF.

Language Learning Counselling

The individual language learning counselling is a complementary offer for international students and refugees participating in the preparatory German classes at the Department German as a Foreign Language.

Language Examinations

The Department German as a Foreign Language conducts the German Language Examination for University Admission (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang, DSH) and is a licensed test centre for the examination of telc C1 Hochschule and TestDaF.

Consultation Hours

Mondays and thursdays from 2 to 4 pm. At the moment consultation hours are held via zoom. Please make an appointment using our registration form.
