Dr. Jules Mansaly
Dr Jules Mansaly has been a Senior Lecturer in Sociolinguistics at the University of The Gambia since 2022.He holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the Institute of African Studies at the University of Cologne, Germany, which he obtained in 2016. His academic journey also includes an Advanced Diploma in Linguistics from Université Cheikh Anta Diop Dakar, Senegal in 2010 and a Master's Degree in Linguistics from Université Gaston Berger de Saint-Louis, Senegal in 2009. Dr Mansaly has been recognised for his literary contributions, receiving the Grand Prix du Chef de l'Etat pour les Lettres in Senegal in 2017 for his novel Les songes de Nseka. He was also awarded a DAAD research fellowship from 2012 to 2016, during which time he pursued his doctoral studies. His teaching experience includes serving as a temporary lecturer in sociolinguistics at the Université Assane Seck de Ziguinchor, Senegal, in 2018 and 2019. He also contributed to academic development by lecturing on academic writing and oral presentation at ESMT Dakar, Senegal, in 2019. Since 2022, he has been mentoring scholarship holders for LEAD!
