graphic slider element

The DIES ProGRANT project ended successfully in 2023. We will therefore not be offering any ProGRANT courses in 2024. We look back proudly on almost 10 years of ProGRANT and would like to thank all participants, trainers and partners for this great time together.

Proposal Writing for Research Grants

ProGRANT Proposal Writing for Research Grants is part of the DIES (Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies) program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK).

The aim of  ProGRANT Proposal Writing for Research Grants  is to enable researchers and younger PhD holders (up to 40 years of age) from countries in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia to develop proposal writing skills according to international standards and to design, write and budget a promising proposal for national and international research funding.

The courses are organized and conducted by the International Office of the University of Cologne in close cooperation with proWiss (Consulting Services for Researchers) and partner institutions in the regions.

ProGRANT is an effective tool for enhancing academic capacity building in the global south and for promoting international research cooperation.

Global Responsibility

Global Responsibility combines internationalization with third mission in order to spread and transfer the knowledge generated by the University of Cologne in our local, regional and global networks and contribute to global change. Global Responsibility expresses thereby an attitude, which defines the role and the motivation of a university to act globally. It emphazises that all actions have a global impact of which every individual should be aware of. It is the task of a university to generate and spread knowledge in order to overcome old concepts and raise global awareness.
