Prof. Dr. Stanislav Kopriva
Stanislav Kopriva is Professor of Plant Biochemistry with a research focus on plant sulfur nutrition, plant microbe interaction and evolution of photosynthesis.
He is speaker of the Competence Area Food Security at the University of Cologne and Deputy Speaker of the Cluster of Excellence on Plant Science (CEPLAS).
Stanislav Kopriva graduated from Charles University, Prague and worked as a research fellow at the Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research in Gatersleben. He did his post-doc in Bern and Freiburg, became project leader at the John Innes Institute Norwich, before he joined the faculty at University of Cologne.
Beyond biological research, Stanislav Kopriva cooperates with the Global South Studies Centre (GSSC) at the University of Cologne and gives talks regarding the critical role of biology forglobal food security.
