Long-term lecturers: The onetime rate for travel expenses is 725 €. Additionally, a travel stipend of 500 € for the participation of symposiums and conferences within Germany is covered. If a lecturer stays for more than one semester, a monthly grant of 261 € for health insurance is rewarded. The salary of the lecturer will be calulated by following typical salary classification at the University of Cologne. Earnings are classified according to the “W-Besoldung” (salary) for university professors, “the TvöD-L” (public scale), or special lump sum remunerations for guest researchers specified by the university.
Short-term lecturers: All Indian short-term lecturers receive a onetime fixed rate for travel expenses in the amount of 550 €. If a lecturer stays longer than 23 days, a monthly grant of 2.000 €;2.1500 € or 2.300 € is issued depending on the university status. If a lecturer stays up to 22 days, a daily lump sum in the amount of 89 €; 96€ or 103 € is paid, again depending on the university status.
Research visits for PhD students and postgraduates: Students will receive 550,00 € as a onetime fixed rate for traveling expenses. The monthly grant for insurance is 60,00 €. PhD students receive 1.000 € and postgraduates 750,00 € for accommodation monthly. Please note that you can only receive the specified fixed rates if the duration of your stay is one to two months long. A two week stay is only possible upon consultation and under special circumstances.
Grants for study visits and summer schools: Study visits of Indian student groups to Germany which take place in the context of a CMIS guest lecture can be funded. Eligible students have to be full time undergraduates or postgraduates at the Indian partner university of the guest lecturer and at least in their second semester. The stay cannot be longer than two weeks and the max amount of participants is 20 students.
