Dr. Anan Alsheikh Haidar is a research fellow at the Institute for International Peace and Security Law at the University of Cologne, Germany. She worked at the same institute as a Phillipp Schwartz fellow from July 2016 to December 2018.

Dr. Haidar studied at the Faculty of Law of the University of Damascus, Syria, and received her Diploma in Law in 2000. She earned her Master of Laws (LLM) in Advanced Legal Studies as a Chevening scholar at the School of Law at the University of Reading, UK, in 2005, followed by her Ph.D. in Law in 2010 in the principal subjects of International Criminal Law, International Human Rights Law, and International Security Studies. She worked as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law at Damascus University from 2010 to 2014, as well as at the Syrian Virtual University.

Bianca Sola Claudio is pursuing a PhD on the topic of migration at the University of Cologne, focusing on normative questions of distributive justice and asylum in the European context. Her dissertation examines the application of Amartya Sen’s capability approach to defining a social minimum for asylum seekers. Her research interests, in addition to migration ethics, include political theory and care ethics, as well as post-colonial approaches to reparative justice. Bianca Sola Claudio is a member of the Interdisciplinary Center for Integration and Migration Research at the University of Duisburg-Essen and a lecturer for the Cologne Global Study Program at the University of Cologne.

Since 2024, Drew Nelson has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Cologne, by invitation of Dr. Kirk Junker, Vice Rector for Sustainability. After graduating from the “Mind, Brain & Education” program at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education, he returned to Harvard’s Division of Continuing Education to work as a fellow under Dr. Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa from 2016-2023. The research focus at that time revolved around cognitive bias identification and mitigation as it relates to the “science of learning." From 2018-2020, that research was integrated into German Aerospace Center's (DLR) Think Tank, to address sustainable digital transformation, change management, and the integration of AI systems into their strategic foresight management processes. His consulting and media production work includes the creation of assets that translate and disseminate research for a broader audience. His current research relates to the development and refinement of a "theory of mental frameworks," a scaffolded and transferable approach to complex (wicked) problem solving methods and strategies for both groups and individuals. 

Laura Jungblut is an indigenous studies scholar and (marketing) editor, who received her M.A. in American Studies from Mainz University and graduated from Clark University, MA with a degree in English. She is currently enrolled at Europa Universität Flensburg pursuing her PhD. Her research focus includes Sámi Studies, Critical Whiteness Studies, Indigenous Futurism and trickster methodology. She is part of the Network for Teaching Indigenous Studies in Europe (N-TISE), the German Association for American Studies (GAAS), the Native American and Indigenous Studies Association (NAISA) and has spent time at the Centre for Sami Studies (SESAM) at the Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø. Jungblut is based in Cologne and divides her time between academic, creative and editorial work.
