For 15 years, students from the University of Cologne and other North Rhine-Westphalia universities have been taking their curiosity about China and their desire to learn Chinese to Shanghai. In this most prosperous city of China, they were able to learn Chinese language, get to know Chinese people and their lifestyle as well as the culture.

From August 10^th to 30^th 2025, the Tongji Summer school will be hosted in this modern metropolis for the sixteenth time. We are looking for YOU!

In the three weeks on the campus of Tongji University, the Chinese university with the strongest ties to Germany, you are able to learn the origins of Chinese, one of the world's oldest languages, and experience traditional Chinese cultural activities like painting and calligraphy. After class you are going to the marketplaces to get a closer look at the folks' life. There are colorful programs, such as visits to the symbolic tourist attractions and excursion to Hangzhou with the most romantic sightseeing spot the West Lake. In a company visit, you will find out how Germany companies synchronize with the local economic and social norms.  And, of course the authentic Chinese food is the delicacy not to be missed
