- Practical tutorial “Biology for Medical Practitioners” (performance assessment: written exam)
- Tutorial on German terminology (attendance)
- If necessary, an event to improve language competence (performance assessment: written exam)2
- Tutorial “German for Medical Practitioners” (performance assessment: written exam) - Requirement: level IV
- Orientation series (attendance)
- Seminar “Intercultural Awareness” (performance assessment: essay)
- Study skills course (performance assessment: oral presentation)
- Lecture and tutorial “Chemistry for Medical Practitioners” (voluntary)
Requirements for admission to the degree programme:
- Passing the above-mentioned performance assessments1
- Regular participation in the above-mentioned events
If you have not reached level IV in the semester, you will be required to take part in the following course during the lecture-free period after you have completed Studienstart International:
- Pre-semester course (5-6 weeks) in “German as a foreign language” (20 SWS)
If you do not pass, you can repeat Studienstart International once.
[1] You will be very well prepared for the exam in a tutorial. You have three attempts to pass the exam this semester. Experience has shown that the majority of students pass in their first attempt.
[2] You will take a placement test of the UoC’s “German as a Foreign Language” Department. If you are placed in level IV (or lower), you will take part in the event.
Neurosciences
Your curriculum in Studienstart International
- Cognitive Neurosciences I (clinical exam)
- Thematic lecture series (attendance)
- Tutorial on German terminology (attendance)
- If necessary, an event to improve language competence (exam performance: written exam)2
- Tutorial “German for Medical Practitioners” (performance assessment: written exam) - Requirement: level IV
- Orientation series (attendance)
- Seminar “Intercultural Awareness” (performance assessment: essay)

- Lecture and tutorial “Chemistry for Medical Practitioners” (voluntary)
Requirements for admission to the degree programme:

- Regular participation in the above-mentioned events
After successful completion of Studienstart International plus, you can transfer directly to the first semester of your degree programme – without having to apply again.
If you do not pass, you can repeat Studienstart International once.
Dentistry
Your curriculum in Studienstart International
- Lecture “Biology for Dentists”
- Lecture “Materials Science I” with practical exercises (performance assessment: practical exam)
- Tutorial on German terminology (attendance)
- If necessary, an event to improve language competence (performance assessment: written exam)2
- Tutorial “German for Medical Practitioners” (performance assessment: written exam) - Requirement: level IV
- Orientation series (attendance)
- Seminar “Intercultural Awareness” (performance assessment: essay)
- Study skills course (performance assessment: oral presentation)
- Lecture and tutorial “Chemistry for Medical Practitioners” (voluntary)
After successful participation in Studienstart International, admission to the first semester is granted.

After successful completion of Studienstart International plus, you can transfer directly to the first semester of the degree programme – without having to apply again.
