International Scholars
Welcome Centre for international scholars at the University of Cologne
The Welcome Centre offers individual assistance for international Postdocs and research staff/guests from abroad and their families. Besides support with issues concerning visa, work and residence permit, this includes also housing and the search for accommodation – if available in one of the University’s Guest Houses or on the housing market.
For PhD-researchers we provide, as the competent unit, Hosting Agreements (if needed) and give advice with view to requesting the residence permit.
However, we cannot offer house hunting for PhD-researchers.
Visiting Hours
Mondays - Thursdays from 10:30 am until 1:00 pm in our office on the ground floor of International House, Kringsweg 6.
Please send us an email via international.scholarsverw.uni-koeln.de before you stop by, so that we can prepare the appointment.
Consultations via email, Zoom or telephone (see below) remain viable.
