University of Cologne Regional Office– India, South Asia & South East Asia

 

The University of Cologne Regional Office India in New Delhi is officially registered as a branch office of the University of Cologne. The office exists since 2009 in New Delhi and initially catered to the Indian region. Since January 2021, the office expanded its services to the South Asian region. From January 2022 onwards, the office has expanded its services to South East Asia region.

The Office serves as the first point of contact for faculty and students in India, South Asia, South East Asia and University of Cologne. It functions as a key link between the University of Cologne and the academic landscape in these regions. The office provides assistance to bridge the cultural and structural gap that might exist through administrative efforts in order to make cooperation between institutions in partner countries successful.

The University of Cologne Regional Office India in New Delhi is situated in the German House in New Delhi at 21, Jor Bagh, New Delhi- 110003. Jor Bagh is a centrally located area in the capital city of India with easy access to the metro station, to the German Embassy, and to many other important landmarks in the city. The German House is home to offices of various other German organizations having a lawful presence in India.

The University of Cologne Regional Office India in New Delhi is headed by Dr. Amisha Jain. She is a lawyer by profession, and has spent several years working in Germany. Her doctoral work in India focused on Indian Forest Laws and Rights of the Indigenous people of India. Her work profile consists of preparing the annual strategy of Indian, South Asian and South East Asian academic activities and to inform about the latest research landscape and education policies in India, South Asia and in South East Asia.
