PD Dr. Filomain Nguemo
Filomain Nguemo is the Group leader at the Stem Cells, Molecular Biology and Electrophysiology Laboratory at the Center for Physiology and Pathophysiology, Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital Cologne
He graduated in Animal Biology and Physiology at the University of Dschang and obtained a PhD in Physiology at the University of Yaounde I, Cameroon. In 2008, he was awarded the degree of a Dr. rer. medic. summa cum laude, at the University of Cologne. Filomain Nguemo did post-doctoral research at University of Bonn and in Cologne, he was invited as a visiting scientist in San Diego. During his career, Filomain Nguemo won multiple awards and scholarships including a DAAD post-doc scholarship, doctoral fellowship by the Rosa Luxemburg foundation and many others.
The journey from a small town in Cameroun to an international research career in stemcell biology is higly motivational for many of the African scholarship holders of the Leadership for Africa Programme.
