Survey Formats

Various survey formats are used to support the regular, informed development of data-driven degree programmes and the strategic development of the programme portfolio. For example, questionnaires, qualitative group interviews and university statistical analyses are used to collect both quantitative and qualitative data about the Teaching and Learning quality criteria.

Both the course survey and the degree programme and module survey are particularly important for improving the quality of the degree programmes. The course survey plays a central role in the development of teaching and learning programmes. In addition, surveys conducted with first-year students and graduates provide information on specific aspects of the transition phases of the student life cycle. The development of all formats and the associated questionnaire items is facilitated by regular exchanges between the subjects and Q³. The following table gives an overview of the survey formats used.

Faculty QM and Q³

While the quality management surveys are carried out by Q³ or the Faculty QMs, the basic data sheet is prepared under the leadership of the Teaching and Studies Reporting Team in cooperation with the Strategic Controlling & Information Management Department and the International Office. It is based on university statistical data, which has been collected uniformly for all degree programmes since the introduction of the university-wide campus management system KLIPS 2.0 in the 2015/2016 winter semester. This is supplemented by data from capacity calculations (including admission numbers, curricular values, staff data) and mobility data maintained in the MoveOn software.

A guide to the implementation of the programme and module survey can be found here.
