Why Do We Eat What We Eat? The Psychology of Eating

Lecture by Dr. Simone Dohle (Social Cognition Center Cologne)

Psychological factors, including attitudes, beliefs, and habits, have a strong influence on people’s eating behavior. In this talk, Simone Dohle will provide scientific insights on why people often eat more than they would like to eat, why many dieters fail, and how the environment affects the quantities and types of food that we eat. The talk will also provide an understanding of the factors influencing public acceptance of new and innovative foods, such as functional foods. From the studies presented, implications can be derived as to how people could be motivated to consume a healthier and more varied diet.

Participation is free of charge, to register please follow the Link.

The lecture takes place in the context of the 1st Cologne Conference on Food for Future.
