Content:
How would you explain your scientific studies to a layperson, politician or media representative? Which form of communication would you use?
Different communication situations often pose a challenge - be it in the written or oral presentation of the respective research.
This module teaches the central elements of science communication.
We will give an overview of the “scene” of science communication. Where does science communication take place and what building blocks are needed to be considered. We will talk about communication models and formats, target groups and their preferences. We will also discuss possibilities for evaluation.
All participants will be instructed on how to create an effective communication strategy according to the principles of science communication.
At the end of the module, all participants will have a tried and tested “toolbox” that they can use specifically for their future science communication.
The participants receive materials in advance to prepare for the interactive exercises.
