Last week, this year's Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings was published. The University of Cologne was ranked 172nd out of a total of 1,662 institutions worldwide. This result places it among the top eleven percent of universities evaluated worldwide. In the national context, the University of Cologne ranks 18th out of a total of 50 German universities.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings is one of the most influential university rankings worldwide and is published annually. Eleven indicators from the areas of research, teaching, knowledge transfer, internationality, and third-party funding serve to calculate the rankings.
