5th EUniWell Rectors’ Assembly to coincide with FestiWell at Linnaeus University

Linnaeus University invites leading representatives of the European University for Well-Being to the Alliance's strategy meeting in Sweden / The University of Cologne will participate in the "Rectors' Assembly" and the FestiWell taking place at the same time with a 24-member delegation

On 4 April 2023, rectors, vice-rectors and student and management representatives of all European University for Well-Being (EUniWell) universities will meet in Växjö, Sweden, for the Alliance's Rectors' Assembly. The aim of the meeting is to set the strategic priorities for the period up to the second funding phase and beyond. Key areas such as mobility, entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as support for future teachers, researchers and students will be addressed.

The biannual meeting of the European University Alliance, established in 2019 and led and coordinated by the University of Cologne, will take place for the fifth time. EUniWell Chief Development Officer, Professor Dr Beatrix Busse, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Studies, emphasises: "I am very much looking forward to the meeting. Striving to offer first-class study programmes and excellent research, to provide students with the best possible learning conditions, all under the guiding principle of Well-Being, unites our universities. Establishing ourselves in this way as the voice for Well-Being in the long term is the common goal of EUniWell."

In parallel to the Rectors' Assembly, and also with the participation of high-ranking representatives of the Alliance, the European University for Well-Being will celebrate its third FestiWell on 3 and 4 April 2023. The series of events celebrates the cooperation between the universities within the Alliance once a year. This year's FestiWell will be held for the first time as a face-to-face event with the participation of all partner universities at one location, the Växjö campus of Linnaeus University. Inspired by the European Union's declaration of 2023 as the European Year of Skills, FestiWell will offer a variety of workshops, lectures and activities under the motto "Upskill, Connect and Celebrate". Among them is the fully booked attendance workshop "Ubuntu: Critical self workshop - sensitivity/anti-discrimination training", led by Dr. Rahab Njeri, staff member in the area of racism critique of the Gender Equality & Diversity Department of the University of Cologne.

"At Linnaeus University we are very proud to host the first joint FestiWell in presence on our campus. I warmly welcome all EUniWell colleagues to Linnaeus University," says Peter Aronsson, Rector of Linnaeus University. Ann-Charlotte Larsson, Deputy Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Innovation at Linnaeus University, adds: "At EUniWell and our partners, we focus on the well-being of individuals, society and the planet. It is important for students, staff, teachers and researchers to have competences in various related fields as we work towards a more sustainable future."

In addition to the staff, 13 students will travel to Sweden with the 24-member delegation from the University of Cologne to participate in the events, at the invitation of the European University for Well-Being. Interested parties are cordially invited to follow the events online. Some FestiWell formats are offered hybrid and are also open for digital participation or will be made available digitally afterwards.
