Human Resources Development for Researchers in their qualification phases
At our university, we are pursuing the goal of lowering the age of first academic appointments, strengthening early academic independence and personal responsibility and improving the predictability and transparency of academic career paths. This is why the first tenure-track professorship was established in 2012 and has been continuously expanded as a career path.
With our concept for promoting academics in qualification phases and implementing the tenure-track professorship, we were already successful in the first round of the application procedure and were able to acquire 27 additional tenure-track professorships (W1/W2) funded by the federal government and the Länder. The total number of junior professorships at our university has also increased significantly and now accounts for around 33% of all new appointments.
The continuing professional development programme for both tenure-track professors and all other junior professors is funded by the programme for the promotion of early career researchers of the federal government and the Länder in order to provide them with the best possible support in their career paths.
