Ombudpersons
While working on your doctoral project, differences of opinion and tensions may arise between you and your supervisor. In such cases, talk to your supervisor promptly and describe your situation. Misunderstandings or unspoken expectations are often the reason for tense situations. If specific conflicts have arisen from differing views, it can be helpful to consult an ombudsperson as a neutral body for addressing the issue in a conversation.
You can contact the following ombudspersons at your own or any other Faculty:
- Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences: Dr. Johannes Antweiler
- Faculty of Law: Promotionsbüro
- Faculty of Medicine: https://medfak.uni-koeln.de/fakultaet/vertrauenspersonen
- Faculty of Arts and Humanities: Prof.' Dr.' Susanne Wittekind
- Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences: Prof.` Dr.` Stefanie Walch-Gassner
- Faculty of Human Sciences: Prof.` Dr.` Jutta Stahl
You can also contact the General Ombudsperson for Early Career Researchers: Prof. Dr. Stephan Michael Schröder (central-ombudsperson-ECRuni-koeln.de)
In cases of conflict, you can also contact the Albertus Magnus Center team in confidence at any time. We will be happy to support you in contacting the appropriate office.
