This year’s Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings places the University of Cologne among the TOP 150 universities worldwide. This is the University’s best result ever, placing it in the TOP 9 per cent of all participating universities. The University of Cologne also scores well in national comparison, improving by four places and currently ranking 14th out of the 50 German universities that were included. In almost all indicators, including teaching, research, citations, and internationality, the University of Cologne improved its result from the previous year and thus secures the best result in relative terms since 2016.
About the ranking: The Times Higher Education World University Rankings is one of the most influential university rankings worldwide and is published annually. It is based on eleven indicators from the areas of research, teaching, knowledge transfer, internationality, and third-party funding. This year, 1,799 institutions were included in the ranking.
