Doing a doctorate with a child

The University of Cologne would like to provide special support to Early Career Scientists with children/caring responsibilities. It offers doctoral candidates with child(ren)/relatives in need of care the following counselling and support services for specific target groups:

1) Doctoral students with children (student status) can contact the social counselling service of the Kölner Studierendenwerk if they need advice. The Dual Career & Family Support also offers support services.
2) Doctoral students with a child who are employed at the University of Cologne (employee status) will find a wide range of counselling and support services at Dual Career & Family Support.
3) Doctoral students with dependents in need of care (student & employee status) will find a wide range of counselling and support services at Dual Career & Family Support.

All doctoral students can also enquire about specific support services in their graduate school or doctoral programme.
