Directions

The University of Cologne is simultaneously a city and a campus university. Its buildings lie close to the city centre and are easily reached. The university’s central institutions and main edifices are concentrated on the grounds surrounding Albertus-Magnus-Platz in the district of Lindenthal.
In case you use the public transportation system, please keep in mind to buy a valid ticket. Ticket machines are located on the platforms as well as in the trams (different language options are available).

From the University of Cologne to the Guesthouses

Guesthouse Behringstr. Take the tram no. 9 (direction "Sülz") from "Universität" and get off at "Zülpicher Str./Gürtel". Change to the tram no. 13 (direction "Holweide") and get off at "Wüllnerstraße". Please note that the walking distance is only  1,5km (ca. 15-20min.).From the Guesthouse to the University: Take tram no. 13 from "Wüllnerstr." (direction "Sülzgürtel") and get off at "Zülpicher Str./Gürtel". Change to tram no 9 (direction "Königsforst") and get off at "Universität". Guesthouse Marienburger Str. Take the bus no. 130 (direction "Marienburg Südpark") at "Universität" and get off at "Marienburg-Bayenthalgürtel".From the Guesthouse to the University: Take bus no. 130 at "Marienburg-Bayenthalgürtel" (direction "Universität") and get off at "Universität".

From Cologne Central Station to the University of Cologne

Take the underground line 16 or 18 to the stop "Neumarkt". Connect with tram no. 9 and exit at the stop "Universität". The journey takes about 20 minutes. A taxi ride from Central Station to the University costs about 13€.

From “Köln-Deutz/Messe” Station to the University of Cologne

Take tram no. 9 in the direction of "Sülz" to the stop "Universitätv (7 stops).
To get to the university clinics, likewise take the tram no. 9 in the direction of "Sülz" and exit at "Lindenburg". The journey takes about 15 minutes. A taxi ride from Deutz station to the University costs about 16€.

From “Köln-Süd” Station to the University of Cologne

Use the exit corridor “Zülpicher Straße”. Upon exiting, turn left and walk along Zülpicher Straße in the direction of Lindenthal until you reach the intersection with Universitätsstraße; turn right and continue on to the main university building (the walk takes about 5-10 minutes).

Cologne Central Station (Köln Hauptbahnhof) to Cologne/Bonn Airport (Flughafen Köln/Bonn)

Rail: S-Bahn train number 13 runs from the airport railway station, which is situated between Terminal 1 and 2, to Cologne Hauptbahnhof (Cologne central station) and other destinations in the city. Operating Monday till Friday from every 20 minutes and on weekends every 30 minutes. Operating time form Cologne/Bonn Airport to Cologne Hauptbahnhof between 2.21am and 1.34am. From Cologne Hauptbahnhof to the Airport between 3.14am till 0.41am.
Bus: Airport shuttles are available to/from Cologne (journey time - 20 minutes) and Bonn (journey time - 35 minutes).
Taxi: Taxis to the centre of Cologne are readily available outside Terminals 1 and 2 (journey time – 15-30 minutes). Please call 0221/19410 or 0221/2882 (Taxi-Ruf Köln). A journey will cost about 25€.

Cologne Central Station (Köln Hauptbahnhof) to Airport Frankfurt/a.M.

There are regular ICE-train service between the Cologne Central Station and the Frankfurt Airport. The trains operate hourly. The journey takes about 1 hour and a ticket costs around 66 €.
