During your lunch break you have the choice between different university canteens which are only a short hop away:

Uni-Mensa (Central Mensa, Zülpicher Straße 70, 50937 Köln)

Uni-Mensa (Robert-Koch-Straße, Robert-Koch-Straße 10, 50931 Köln)

Also Zülpicher Straße which is part of the students’ quarter offers many international and German restaurants and cafeterias at a reasonable price.

Typical German food: Eat and drink in a „Kölsch“ Brewery

Public Transportation

The easiest way to get to the university area is by tram/underground, taking No. 9 in direction "Sülz, Hermeskeiler Platz" and get off at tram stop "Universität". "KVB" is the company wich runs this means of transportation. You will get a free ticket on the day of your arrival in Cologne. Please sign the ticket on the back and show it together with your ID card in case you are asked to do so by ticket inspectors which can be recognized by dark wardrobe with a read sign indicating KVB.
