
Third Mission
The University of Cologne continuously generates knowledge in a variety of scientific disciplines. The Third Mission refers to all activities the University pursues to make this knowledge available to society and useful for the economy. At the same time, the University takes up impulses from outside the University for research and teaching. Interactive knowledge transfer is at the heart of all third mission activities.
The third mission activities of the University of Cologne are in research transfer, social engagement and lifelong learning.
