Institutions in education and research ought to be pillars of social responsibility in a global context. The University of Cologne accepts this global responsibility, as stated in its internationalization strategy, and is assuming it in a number of fields and activities. Various research projects envisage to contribute to societal development in both Germany and in countries of the Global South, proving that excellency in research and teaching and global responsibility are internationalization objectives that fit into one another.
