ProGRANT Trainers

Birte Kathage, PhD is responsible for coordinating the contents of the DIES Proposal Writing Courses at the DIES Proposal Writing Courses Coordination Office (University of Cologne). She is research funding / research management expert and research consultant at proWiss Consulting Services for Researchers and expert trainer for the DIES Proposal Writing Courses. She is lecturer at the Institute for African Studies and the Quality Management Office at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (University of Cologne).

Reinhard Klein-Arendt, PhD is expert trainer for the DIES Proposal Writing Courses with a focus on research funding and research proposal writing. He is research funding expert and research consultant at proWiss Consulting Services for Researchers and associate professor at the Institute for African Studies (University of Cologne).

Mohamed Touré, PhD is currently a DIES ProGRANT Regional Head Trainer with a focus on the francophone West Africa. He is lecturer at the Institute for African Studies (University of Cologne).

Lizette Jacinto, PhD (Mexico City) is currently a DIES ProGRANT Regional Head Trainer with a focus on Spanish-speaking Latin America. She obtained her PhD in History from the University Witten-Herdecke, Germany.

Jules Jacques Coly, PhD is a Regional Head Trainer for the DIES Proposal Writing Courses with a focus on research funding and research proposal writing. He is lecturer at the Institute for African Studies (University of Cologne).

Leenawaty Limantara, PhD (Indonesia) is a Regional Head Trainer for DIES ProGRANT courses in Asia with a focus on research funding and research proposal writing. She is a principal investigator at Ma Chung research Center for Photosynthetic Pigments (MRCPP), a national center of excellence in Indonesia for Chlorophylls and Carotenoids, as well as an associate professor in the Chemistry at Universitas Pembangunan Jaya.

Nisrine Machaka-Houri, PhD (Lebanon) is a Regional Head Trainer for DIES ProGRANT courses in the Middle-East and an Honoree of the Women in Science Hall of Fame Award from the Department of State in 2015. She is an environmental scientist and researcher who has several books, papers and chapters published. She teaches plant biology and environmental health at the university level as well as an environmental consultant for national and international organizations.
