„The best way to take care of the future is to take care of the present moment.“ (Thich Nhat Hanh)
Dear Doctoral Candidates and Postdocs,
The Albertus Magnus Center (AMC) would like to invite you to its online Summer Reception „Well-Being in Scientific Life“ on 14 September 2020, 5:30-7:30 pm.
Working in science gives pleasure and offers positive challenges. But it is also often accompanied by growing demands, pressure to perform and a high workload. Ongoing stressful situations often have consequences for mental and physical health.
In an interdisciplinary exchange, we would like to discuss possibilities for stress reduction that can help you to remain powerful and calm in your academic workday, so that you become more aware of your own resources. The event will be held in cooperation with the Occupational Health Management of the University of Cologne.
In this event you will learn how to raise awareness of (psycho-social) challenges in the scientific workplace. You will understand ‘stress’ and get to know the holistic approach to health. Furthermore you will be presented health-promoting coping strategies in order to activate personal resources in challenging situations. Last but not least, you will be informed about the support and advisory services at the University of Cologne.
This event will be held in english and via zoom. Please register until 31 August via the following link in order to get your access data.
We are looking forward to an interesting event with you!
