With her senior experience in higher education management, internationalization, intercultural communication and regional expertise, Dr. Preuschoff serves as a key advisor for the Global Responsibility activities at the Universtiy of Cologne. She is the Director of the ProGRANT project.

Nicole Conde, M.A.
Counselling Unit for international students at the International Office with expertise in exchange student counselling and establishing strategic partnerships with universities worldwide. Furthermore, Nicole Conde is the Coordinator for Academic Cooperation in Brazil and contact person for the DWIH Sao Paulo. She is a Trainer for Intercultural Communication and obtained her Master´s degree in Portuguese and German Studies at the University of Bonn.
Sarah-Marleen Dannenberg, M.Phil.
Head of Unit "Sustainable Academic Trainings & Skills" and Head of the ProGRANT project at the International Office. This includes the overall management of third party-funded projects in the field of capacity building, strategic coordination, event organization, and scholar support. Her regional focus is India and South-East Asia. Ms. Dannenberg obtained her Master’s degree in Linguistics from Trinity College Dublin.

Jens Funk, Dipl. & M.A.
ProGRANT Project Manager, Digital Coordinator, and contact for the project administration including project logistics and scholar support. Additionally, he is responsible for digitalization issues and blended learning projects at the International Office. Mr. Funk obtained his Diploma’s degree in Regional Sciences of Latin-America from the University of Cologne and his Master’s degree in International Relations and Development Policy from the University Duisburg-Essen.

Dr. Amisha Jain
Head of the University of Cologne Branch Office in New Delhi. Amisha is a lawyer by profession and holds a Doctorate of Law in the study of the rights of Indigenous people of India. She is responsible for fostering Indo-German research collaborations and looks after already existing exchange programs with Indian institutes of higher education. Since January 2021, Amisha is also responsible for fostering academic cooperation in the South Asian region, namely in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

Matthea Keser, B.A.
Matthea is assistant within the Sustainable Academic Trainings & Skills Unit, supporting the team in financial and administrative matters. She is also a research associate at the Department of Roman Languages at the University of Cologne, where she holds seminars in the basic studies. She is currently finishing her Master in Roman Languages and speaks fluently German, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
Edward Ofori-Annor, B.A.
Edward is a Research Assistant at the International Office. He supports the Head of the International Office with research activities in the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) and other administrative activities. He is also part of the Sustainable Academic Trainings & Skills Team supporting with issues regarding Global Responsibility, Academic Cooperation in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the MENA region. He holds a BA in English and History from the University of Ghana and is currently studying a Master interdisciplinary programme at the University of Cologne. Edward speaks English and German.

Yahya Rezazada, B.A.
Yahya is part of the Sustainable Academic Trainings & Skills Team. He supports the DaF-Remotely Afghanistan Projekt as well as students at risk programme at the DAAD. He also teaches GaFL (German as Foreign Language) at the University of Cologne. He is currently persuing his Master's degree in DaF and Germanistik at the Bielefeld University.
Daniela Simut-Perent, M.A.
Head of the Counselling Unit and Head of the LEAD! project at the International Office with expertise in international partnerships, student counselling and strategic coordination of projects. Furthermore, Daniela Simut is the Coordinator for Academic Cooperation with Latin America and a Trainer for Intercultural Communication. Daniela obtained her Master's degree in English Studies, Spanish Studies and Political Science from the University of Cologne.
Georg Verweyen, PhD
Georg Verweyen coordinates the LEAD! Program, in which African scholarship holders from all over Germany receive leadership training. He holds a master's and PhD from Bochum and a doctorandus from Utrecht University. Before joining the International Office, he was director of the DAAD office in Thailand and taught for several years in Nairobi, Kenya. Georg Verweyen's regional focus is sub-Saharan Africa.
Till von Pock, B.A.
Till is part of the Design Team and is mainly responsible for design-related tasks in the ProGRANT project. He holds a teaching degree in French and Mathematics from the University of Cologne and is now studying Integrated Design at the Köln International School of Design (KISD).
Shaoze Wu, B.A.
Shaoze Wu is part of the Global Responsibility team and supervises the China Summer Schools, Chinese Council Scholarship, and general support for China activities.
Karim Zafer, M.A.
International Project Manager for third-party funded projects, coordinator for academic cooperation projects with our partner universities in the MENA-Region and Head of the University of Cologne Regional Office in Cairo. He is also a lecturer, research associate and PhD candidate at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Cologne. In 2013, he obtained a Master of Arts degree “Culture & Environment in Africa” from the University of Cologne. Karim speaks fluently Arabic, German, English and French.
Oumayma Zeino-Mahmalat
Oumayma is the assistant within the projects in the MENA-Region, helping in organizational and financial matters. She is currently doing her Bachelor in Economics at the University of Cologne. Oumayma speaks fluently Arabic, French, English and German.
Thilo Zimmermann, PhD
Head of Unit "Academic Networks & SDG Goals" and SDG-Manager responsible for projects to support the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Thilo studied economics at the University of Cologne and holds a PhD in International Political Economy from the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa, Italy. He went to Harvard University and Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris for research stays. Before, he worked at the German Embassy in Rome, Italy, where he coordinated several projects.
