Personnel Development Dialogue

The personnel development dialogue (PDD) is an annual, confidential, one-on-one meeting between employees and their immediate supervisor. Accordingly, you are also entitled to it if you are also employed at the University of Cologne in addition to your doctorate.
The PDD promotes an exchange about your current and future work situation as well as about your professional ideas, perspectives and your professional development. The dialogue creates transparency about tasks and mutual expectations. It is not a professional evaluation interview and should therefore be considered separately from the regular supervision reviews during your academic qualification. However, the PDD should take into account the special requirements you face, the work resources required and the resilience during this phase.
