At the beginning of the Preparatory German courses, we will check your German level with a placement test. On the basis of the results, you will be assigned to a course.
6. Does the Preparatory Course take place in the morning or afternoon?
Unfortunately, we are not able to give binding information in advance. However, it is possible for you to state preferences on your application if you have valid reasons (for example child care).
7. How long does a Preparatory German Course for refugees last?
The duration of the course depends on the results of the placement test. If you start with B2 level, you will need about one year.
8. Do I count as an enrolled student at the University of Cologne while I am a participant of the German Course?

A University Entrance Qualification (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung, HZB) is required to apply for studying at our university. Usually you will have this if you were allowed to study in your home country.
