Preparatory (German) Courses for Refugees

Due to the current situation concerning the corona virus, we would like to inform you that, until further notice, the personal consultation hours do not take place. However, as usual, we are at your disposal by phone and email.

The Service Point remains closed until further notice. Enrolments are still possible by postal mail. Alternatively, drop your (enrolment) documents in the mailbox in front of the Service Point of the International Office.

 

For the general and linguistic preparation for degree study, the University of Cologne is offering Preparatory German language courses, supplemented with more general Introductory courses.

In order to be able to apply, you need a „University Entrance Qualification“ (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung, HZB) and at least level B1 in German (certificate). You can find more information about the courses and  requirements below.

The courses start at the beginning of each semester in April and October. Deadlines are the 1st of September and 1st of March respectively.
